Nix That Catapult Joint (Rocket Man Ricky and the Massive Inter-Galactic Pre-Emptive Strike)

Being a spaceman is no easy task. So Ricky's classmates had always wondered why he had such difficulty staying here on earth.
But perhaps it should not be so difficult to understand. Ricky's great grandparents had been an essential part of the colonization of Mars that began in 3,045. And his Uncle Richard had been a member of the first expedition that led to the exploration of Pluto in 3062. So living in Charlestown, a small enclave in Boston, no longer proved to be a tremendous kick.
Besides Ricky had become increasingly concerned by the idle threats that Americans and other members of the Earth had received from those "Colorful Chronies". "The Chronies" had been making it a practice to control the sky And they had relished in their role as the "New Sky Pirates"
As an astute observer of history Ricky new full well that it had taken years to defeat the first group of pirates. And that his neighbor Max had once fallen victim to their childish pranks.
So it was not a great surprise that little young Ricky had aspirations to become a proud member of "The New American Freedom Brigade". "The New American Freedom Brigade" as he called them, were a savvy bunch of military scientists who sought to patrol the skies and bring justice to the universe.
In his free time Ricky studied ancient military tactics as he was determined to annihilate the enemy. In fact he was so incensed by the build up of dangerous weapons that he vowed to destroy their nuclear store.
With a powerful telescope in hand the prodigious young Ricky was able to locate a small nuclear arsenal on the island of Xenon, somewhere south of Freenon.
Next he downloaded information from the internet and designed a modern-day catapult and assembled it in a small yard near Bunker Hill.
With his face agleam and rapture in his eyes he looked to his friend Fred, and before lighting the fuse, he yelled, "Nix that Catapult Joint, Fred"!
Again he screamed, "Nix that Catapult Joint, Fred"!
As expected the miniature catapult sent a rocket through the sky. And as a glittering fireball descended on a cold black night, Ricky's catapult became an instant hit.
A large burst of energy collided with a large citadel wall. And with it went a swarm of weapons similar to the one that he had just assembled.
Of course Ricky was ecstatic. He vowed to do everything in his power to degrade the military capabilities of his opponent. No longer would the "Colorful Chronies" rule the sky. The skies would belong to Ricky. They would belong only to Ricky and Fred and "The Proud New Freedom Fire Brigade".
